"...the people they hire are chosen because they are not idealistic or aware enough to question or even notice said policies."

I think this is the whole problem in nutshell. They will, however, jump to the occasion to spread politically-correct prejudices whenever possible like the one you mention about the WW2 era. My sons bring home stories of this sort of thing from school all the time. In colleges too, I am still trying to get past people thinking going to college is only to get a degree to get a better job. Learning is much more important than that.

I went to a teachers college for a couple years of my undergrad schooling. Many teachers sadly go into teaching simply because it is a good stable job with good retirement and benefits, etc. Many have problems working with adults and/or control issues which send them into teaching. I taught college courses later in grad school, and could not identify a single student I ever taught who was genuinely interested in the subject matter. However, my office was filled with students asking about grades or requirements...

People need to understand the importance of learning and thinking. The only real weapons we have against deception, corruption, and destruction of civilization are:

1) Objective truth
2) Ideals
3) principles

If we operate according to these, we have a future. If not, we don't. It really is that simple. Arriving at objective truth, worthy ideals to guide us, and eternal principles requires brainpower. Lots of it. It requires vast accumulated information. Everything good depends on objective truth -- there is no real justice without it, for example. There is no freedom without it. People with vast knowledge of the world, motivated for truth, are the natural environment of truth, freedom, and are the keys to the future. When we learn and think and grow we become saviors of the world.

Very nice article.
