A friend tricked me into seeing the new movie, Avatar, and sort of waited , grinning I think, for my reaction.
First, let me warm up your neurons a bit. Think Tarzan, Bladerunner, The Last Samurai, fantasy comic books, Pocahontas, made for TV movies, and especially Edmund Connelly on “Reel Bad White” movies. Think tree-huggers, New Age old Liberals chanting and swaying; Indians Good, White Pioneers Bad; Trees Good, Whites Bad; Jurassic Park, Third World Revolution. The Spirit of the People is Greater than the (White) Man’s Technology. That should warm you up.
Now for an old fart who does not see many movies, Avatar, with its special effects (3D complete with 3D glasses . . . yeah I dodged flying objects the first couple times) is amazing. Do you recall the “Feelies” from Brave New World? These were entertainment movies for the proles whose salient feature was that one was wired up to actually “feel” the emotions and sensations that that were PC. Your brain was wired up to the movie.
So, in a nutshell, Whites from Earth are colonizing another planet whose indigenous wonderful hominids with primitive technology but great butts and neural connections to plants and animals, are in the way of The Company which wants its precious mineral called Unobtainium. (This was the only in joke in the movie I think.) There are a couple of social workers trying to get the natives to move and save Precious Life. They are of course outmaneuvered by the capitalists who want their unobtainium and start to bulldoze the magic forest.
All the roots of the trees of the forest are like a giant brain, the tendrils communicating with one another and with the natives. I forget their names but their language sounds like something vaguely recognizable — like a Native American tongue.
The White invaders have a technique of matching a homo sapiens‘ brain with look-alike “natives” who are grown in a uterine-like fluid and become a sort of identical twin, brain wise, though the morphology is completely different.
So, the Good pseudo-native, like in The Last Samurai, goes native and war is begun with the CapitalistImperialistWhitePigs. Spectacular battle scenes with the Good natives mounted on the backs of flying Teradactyl like birds beating the White Man’s machines. As in Tarzan movies, the animals also come to the aid of the natives, after having sensed that the White Man is a greater danger.
In the battle, the chief Bad Guy is a jarhead (Marine) colonel who wants to kill all the Good Natives. Blue eyes and a very White Marine, he of course, is beaten by bows and arrows and big scary animals (a la Tarzan). As he is about to kill our pseudo-native hero, who has of course betrayed the mission of The Company, the colonel yells, “How does it feel to be a race traitor?” With that, two arrows from the love-interest native female sink into his chest.
Of course I am not making this up. The movie ends with the animals and the natives driving the White Imperialists off their planet, and humanely allowing the surviving beaten Whites to go home. Magnanimity, noble savages, miscegenation — and the pseudo-native almost dies but gets to marry/mate his Pocahontas. And the Forest is saved, unobtainium is left unobtained, and the White Men discover that the spirit of the natives is greater than the White man’s technology. Like Bladerunner’s replicants, the natives are more human than homo sapiens — Whites that is. The few other folks who help the natives are Earthlings — Blacks and browns, who of course, side with the natives. They recognize a brother when they see one.

This movie annoyed me more than I can tell. Old, boring, stupid. Just twisting things doesn’t make you original, and this is the most annoying thing about James Cameron.
The problem is that the whites everywhere in the world are conquered by aliens, still the whites are portrayed everywhere as invaders.
It starts from the moral idea that it is not a good thing to invade another people’s planet/country. Only, in our reality, it is our countries that are invaded by aliens.
From my point of view this movie is intended as a logical bomb.
You can not side with Na’vi, not because they are blue but because they are too morally beautiful to be credible. Come one, no human sacrifice, no scalping, no cannibalistic rituals? Because this is what the whites found among these tribes all over the world, and this is why they sought to civilize them. Something that was impractical, dangerous, and ultimately suicidal for whites.
You can not side with those brutal and paranoid human mercenaries, nor the greedy and sleazy company’s executives.
You can not side with the scientists playing the role of the priests trying to civilize the savages. They were really spies and saboteurs, expecting to be loved as civilized.
Mentioning “shock and awe” and exporting “light beer and blue jeans” democracy was a piece of chutzpah, as if the neoconservative doctrine is the official doctrine of the white people. Bombing whites as in “Allied” operations is a moral thing to do into the twisted brain of Cameron.
Twisting the “Trojan Horse” legend is just subversive.
Also subversive is the idea that changing your “race” or even your “species” is the only way to find happiness and your soul. Also subversive is the fact that a struggling people should send their daughters to mate with the enemy (for life eventually) and tell them everything about their tribe. Something like “Make Love, Not War” no matter what species involved.
What a distasteful salad! What’s annoying is that I spent 5 hours (including driving, parking, standing in line to get the reserved tickets) and something like 20 Euro. I am ashamed by myself.
Best suggestion: don’t go to Hollywood movies. They are bad, stupid, and boring. And the actors are as talented and convincing as comic strip heroes.
I saw the movie and came away with a very different impression. The Navi are a coherent organic tribe. They all have the same color and they all share the same ancestors. They are a truly indigenous people rooted to their soil by blood and ancestry. They bring to mind native Americans (of course), other Third World tribes, but also, and importantly, our own European indigenous tribal past.
The white / mixed race invaders serve the god of Mammon and greed. They embody the spirit of Mammon, the greed of unchecked materialism that seeks fulfillment in material possessions. This is what the current global corporate money culture is all about.
The Navi have a superior and more satisfying way of life than the invaders. Every young person will naturally identify with the Navi. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the way of life. We, as European peoples need to regain our ancestral roots, our sense as a tribal people, as a folk rooted in a common origin. TheNavi reminded me of us, of how our ancestors lived, or may have lived. Obviously it’s all metaphorical, but there is truth to it.
Young people will mostly identify with the Navi. That’s because young people are inherently idealistic and the Navi speak to this idealism. Young people may participate in the shit culture, but in their hearts they are searching for a better world; at least until they get older and fall under the spell of our Mammonite culture.
We need to re-awaken our ancestral spirit, our ancestral indigenous sense of being a people, a folk, and re-build a coherent way of life without losing the advantages of technology and science. We have to build something that appeals to the natural idealism of young people. We need to come up with a compelling vision.
The Navi stand for all indigenous tribal peoples who are rooted in an ancestral way of life within cyclical time. Many of these cultures are primitive and even barbaric. So what. Let them have their way of life. It’s theirs. But we need to get back to something more powerful, more compelling and more true than a life dedicated to materialist accomplishments where everyone is on their own and it’s ok for us to prey on the weak of even our own folk. Dog-eat-dog capitalism is evil, plain and simple.
Ultimately this hinges upon some kind of spiritual rebirth. For one such example you can check out the Asatru Folk Assembly at http://www.runestone.org.
I’ve seen the clips, I’ve read the reviews and I’ve talked to friends and co-workers who’ve seen it. So, it’s “Dances with Wolves” + “Pocahontas” + “Alien”, with the feeling of “Shindler’s List”, in a Lewis Carroll/Pothead-inspired Disney studio wrapping… either way, any serious White man should puke at the thought…

Every age produces its own sort of fables, and our age seems to have produced The White Messiah fable.
This is the oft-repeated story about a manly young adventurer who goes into the wilderness in search of thrills and profit. But, once there, he meets the native people and finds that they are noble and spiritual and pure. And so he emerges as their Messiah, leading them on a righteous crusade against his own rotten civilization.
Avid moviegoers will remember “A Man Called Horse,” which began to establish the pattern, and “At Play in the Fields of the Lord.” More people will have seen “Dances With Wolves” or “The Last Samurai.”
Kids have been given their own pure versions of the fable, like “Pocahontas” and “FernGully.”
It’s a pretty serviceable formula. Once a director selects the White Messiah fable, he or she doesn’t have to waste time explaining the plot because everybody knows roughly what’s going to happen.
The formula also gives movies a little socially conscious allure. Audiences like it because it is so environmentally sensitive. Academy Award voters like it because it is so multiculturally aware. Critics like it because the formula inevitably involves the loincloth-clad good guys sticking it to the military-industrial complex.
Yet of all the directors who have used versions of the White Messiah formula over the years, no one has done so with as much exuberance as James Cameron in “Avatar.”
“Avatar” is a racial fantasy par excellence. The hero is a white former Marine who is adrift in his civilization. He ends up working with a giant corporation and flies through space to help plunder the environment of a pristine planet and displace its peace-loving natives.
The peace-loving natives — compiled from a mélange of Native American, African, Vietnamese, Iraqi and other cultural fragments — are like the peace-loving natives you’ve seen in a hundred other movies. They’re tall, muscular and admirably slender. They walk around nearly naked. They are phenomenal athletes and pretty good singers and dancers.
The white guy notices that the peace-loving natives are much cooler than the greedy corporate tools and the bloodthirsty U.S. military types he came over with. He goes to live with the natives, and, in short order, he’s the most awesome member of their tribe. He has sex with their hottest babe. He learns to jump through the jungle and ride horses. It turns out that he’s even got more guts and athletic prowess than they do. He flies the big red bird that no one in generations has been able to master.
Along the way, he has his consciousness raised. The peace-loving natives are at one with nature, and even have a fiber-optic cable sticking out of their bodies that they can plug into horses and trees, which is like Horse Whispering without the wireless technology. Because they are not corrupted by things like literacy, cellphones and blockbuster movies, they have deep and tranquil souls.
The natives help the white guy discover that he, too, has a deep and tranquil soul.
The natives have hot bodies and perfect ecological sensibilities, but they are natural creatures, not history-making ones. When the military-industrial complex comes in to strip mine their homes, they need a White Messiah to lead and inspire the defense.
Our hero leaps in, with the help of a pack of dinosaurs summoned by Mother Earth. As he and his fellow freedom fighters kill wave after wave of Marines or former Marines or whatever they are, he achieves the ultimate prize: He is accepted by the natives and can spend the rest of his life in their excellent culture.
Cameron’s handling of the White Messiah fable is not the reason “Avatar” is such a huge global hit. As John Podhoretz wrote in The Weekly Standard, “Cameron has simply used these familiar bromides as shorthand to give his special-effects spectacular some resonance.” The plotline gives global audiences a chance to see American troops get killed. It offers useful hooks on which McDonald’s and other corporations can hang their tie-in campaigns.
Still, would it be totally annoying to point out that the whole White Messiah fable, especially as Cameron applies it, is kind of offensive?
It rests on the stereotype that white people are rationalist and technocratic while colonial victims are spiritual and athletic. It rests on the assumption that nonwhites need the White Messiah to lead their crusades. It rests on the assumption that illiteracy is the path to grace. It also creates a sort of two-edged cultural imperialism. Natives can either have their history shaped by cruel imperialists or benevolent ones, but either way, they are going to be supporting actors in our journey to self-admiration.
It’s just escapism, obviously, but benevolent romanticism can be just as condescending as the malevolent kind — even when you surround it with pop-up ferns and floating mountains.
Despite the propaganda of this film, it is a verifiable fact that Na’vi murder whites at between 7 and 8 times the rate that whites murder Na’vi. The rates for robbery and rape are even more disproportionate.

Absolutely! My latest YouTube video says precisely this. But I have a question to the commenters of this blogsite: How come so few of us are speaking out in YouTube? In fact: every time I watch a pro-WN video in YouTube I can only listen the speaker’s voice. No face appears.
As you can see in the linked video, English is not my native language . Why aren’t more natives speaking out about WN in the tube? I’ve just read in Occidental Dissent that “the election of a black president and an economic depression hasn’t produced any tangible benefit for our movement, sad as it is to say”. Isn’t it high time to go forward, at least in the modest form of homemade videos?
This may be my second post in this site. And I may still be a newbie to this movement. But I simply can’t figure out why more people aren’t showing their faces and real names in public. Yes: the owners of YouTube are hostile to our cause. But isn’t it worth trying?
