Owen believed that such communities would serve as centres of social life, rational education and productive activity. He also maintained that they should be agricultural as well as industrial and, whilst being entirely self-supportive, should seek to trade with one another by exchanging surplus goods. This idea was known as “the Plan” and is the fundamental component of genuine Socialism and Co-operation.</i> This sounds very similar to what we are trying to do with the concept of Pioneer Little Europe, but have not had the financial backing to attempt to "restart civilization" based on our native good sense and industriousness. We swim in the dirty water of a corrupted society, and most of us not able to imagine an alternative, just as fish cannot imagine the non-existence of water. American children get trapped from birth in a sewer of mass media addiction and junk food addiction, and public school education is very good at promoting anti-intellectualism. Most seem not to be able to conceive of an alternative. We will only begin to crawl out of the sewer when enough of us can set an example of the alternative, and show the others and let them see that this is a desirable thing to do. We need to convince the herd to follow us rather than them. As conditions worsen, it will become a historical "teachable moment" that will last for the foreseeable future -- what JH Kunstler calls "The Long Emergency." The Long Emergency is a result of a high dysfunctional setup. Reforming a massively dysfunctional setup is going to FORCE people to conceive of alternatives. Many alternatives. Let a thousand flowers bloom. One of those alternatives will bet he White-centric voice and White-centric organizing to lead us out of the darkness.
