There is always what the government tells you it is doing, and then what is really happening. AIPAC is the most powerful lobby in Washington, yet no member of congress tells you that THEY are the reason they do things. Always suspect campaign promises, the spin placed on events, and official history. Individuals tend to rationalize the most depraved behaviors, imagine what governments who are elected might do, and have the power and resources to do, to place spin on world events. The government sold the huge corruption of the “bailout” to us as “for our own good” too… Whatever it takes to get the gullible populace on board. It works best when there is a kernel of truth or existing fear of the people to capitalize on.

One wonders if it ever occurred to those governors and legislators opposed to Brown that they could have effectively nullified the decision simply by repealing their compulsory-attendance laws. With that done, there would have been no impediment to abolishing the public schools. We’re certainly paying the price for their myopia now, both in terms of racial nationalism and quality of education.

Even in an all-white society with great schools, those laws would be evil and worthy of repeal because they are based on the evil assumption that children are government property.

One question, how is it that the USSR was able to make good propaganda about a regional domestic conflict, (segregation in the south) when it as a country had mine fields, barb wire fences, and soldiers with orders to shoot, just to keep anyone from escaping their utopian dream state?
