Please Sir! is set at a school called Fen Street and starred John Alderton as Bernard Hedges, a young teacher fresh out of training college. He encounters kids of a disruptive, sexual, mischievous, and rebellious nature. Scenes from the film in no way depict school life now, never mind back then in 1972. The Teachers come across old fashioned, narrow minded, snobbish, out of touch, and boring spoil-sports etc., etc., etc. At the same time the kids seem a nice bunch that just wants a bit of fun. The most worrying part about this film is the cover of fun and entertainment it is masked with. Yes, rebellion served up as fun and entertainment.

By 1979 “The Teenage Rebellion” had sunk to new debts in the form of “multi-culti” gangs fighting a war between each other and the police. The Warriors is a particular nasty film with every type of sub-culture (black and white) one could imagine. The scene is set in and around New York City.
