Justice Department wishes to Hire Mentally Ill, Mentally Retarded Lawyers
Editor’s Note: Don’t be alarmed, they will only be working in the “Voting Section.” For starters. Doesn’t the very existence of this ad prove that the DOJ already has a healthy compliment of the mentally ill and retarded on staff?
The federal government is seeking applicants who are mentally ill, mentally retarded or both to work as lawyers in the Justice Department. Specifically, a job announcement for “up to 10 experienced attorneys for the position of Trial Attorney in the Voting Section in Washington, D.C.” contains the following language:
The Civil Rights Division encourages qualified applicants with targeted disabilities to apply. Targeted disabilities are deafness, blindness, missing extremities, partial or complete paralysis, convulsive disorder, mental retardation, mental illness, severe distortion of limbs and/or spine. Applicants who meet the qualification requirements and are able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation are encouraged to identify targeted disabilities in response to the questions in the Avue application system seeking that information.

So, this is news? I thought it had been a given for a long time, most people who worked in government were mentally ill, or retarded. And this goes for most politicians also.
I agree with Sam 100%, only I am not really being sarcastic… I wrote to one of my congressmen once. Emphasis on once. All I got was a canned response — with all the intellectuality of canned laughter, and with much the same effect (I found myself chuckling). Even our leaders who are supposed to be scholarly (witness Bill Clinton the “Rhodes Scholar”…) are so vapidly stupid and lowly-motivated that it is painful. I think that is why they are chosen in the first place as options for us to vote on — easily controllable and manipulable “lights on, nobody home” candidates who cannot think themselves out of a paper bag. None of them really even have a philosophy to speak of, or principles. How would we know anyway, since someone else writes their speeches. Look at Obama — if there isn’t a teleprompter he might as well be a teletubbie.
They are hiring mental retards as lawyers?
The less kind amongst us might suggest that there has been no change in hiring policy at all.
This is just too good to be true. It is a monumental self parody of political correctness, handed to us on a silver platter.
