Northwest Homeland
I was informed this evening that Occidental Dissent had been mentioned on Harold Covington’s Northwest Front. Some friends of mine have read the Northwest Quartet, listen to Radio Free Northwest, and keep tabs on Covington’s work. The discussion about Covington that went on here occurred while I was in Washington for the Amren conference. I was on the road at the time and didn’t get the chance to post my own thoughts.
Basically, I am skeptical of the idea of a Northwest Homeland, but not opposed to the movement. If White Nationalists want to relocate to the Pacific Northwest, I wish them the best of luck. A comrade of mine is a frequent traveler in the region. He is very impressed with Wyoming and Idaho. I think he plans to relocate there eventually. The Northwest has some of the best scenery in America: Crater Lake, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park. If we could establish a base in the region, it would undoubtedly be a huge victory for us.
Therein lies the problem: the Northwest’s great advantage (its relative whiteness) is also its greatest disadvantage. Non-Whites are less numerous in the region. As a consequence, Whites in the area have less daily exposure to the horrors of diversity and are less racially conscious than their counterparts elsewhere. It is easy for Whites to ignore America’s racial decline and live a quiet life in Northwest suburbia. There is no material incentive to take the risk of joining a revolutionary organization like the Northwest Volunteer Army.
The people who “get it” in the Northwest – who are explicitly racial – are often migrants from other parts of the Union. Covington himself is from North Carolina. According to Leonard Zeskind, there are about 30,000 hardcore White Nationalists in America. If every single one of these people moved to the Northwest tomorrow, an extremely unlikely scenario, and united behind a single dynamic leader and common political platform, an even more unlikely scenario, they would be roughly the size of a small town. White Nationalists are not sufficiently cohesive or numerous to form a viable secessionist movement in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington.
Local resistance could prove an insurmountable problem. The Democrats have carried Washington and Oregon in every presidential election since 1988. Millions of White liberals live in the Vancouver-Seattle-Portland corridor. The coastal region of the Pacific Northwest is one of the most liberal regions of the United States. Obama won 70% of the vote in King County, Washington (Seattle) and 77% of the vote in Multnomah County, Oregon (Portland). I can’t envision a scenario in which diehard Obama voters would flock to the Northwest Front.
The Pacific Northwest doesn’t have a cultural, regional, or ethnic identity comparable to the American South. Whites in Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland don’t feel a sense of kinship with Whites in Boise, Couer d’Alene, and Helena. They didn’t flock to the side of Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge, Bob Mathews in his shootout in Whidbey Island, or Gordon Kahl in Montana. The Northwest might have a history of Aryan enclave radicalism, but it hasn’t penetrated the surrounding local culture. There isn’t a pre-existing cultural foundation for Whites to rally around.
This can be contrasted to the Antebellum South in the 1850s. Southerners were committed to the preservation of white supremacy. A broad consensus existed in the South that the Union was a compact of sovereign states. A revolutionary vanguard had worked for thirty years to sow the seeds of disunion in South Carolina. The planter class was committed to the preservation of their “domestic institution.” Slavery divided Americans along geographic lines. Secessionists held elected office in all the Southern states. Southerners were united by culture and kinship. Southerners, with their large non-White servile population, had many reasons to fear a “Black Republican” takeover of the federal government.
These vital ingredients are missing in the Pacific Northwest. The region isn’t Ireland, Ukraine, or the Confederacy. Perhaps a band of idealistic Aryan warriors could take up arms against the government and inspire the apathetic masses? The track record of White Nationalist groups like The Order or White Patriot Party doesn’t inspire confidence. The most likely outcome of a government crackdown on an underground vanguardist army would be White Nationalists turning on each and cooperating with the feds like what happened at the Fort Smith Trial.
To his credit, Harold Covington has stressed the importance of character. He is right to focus on this. You can’t build a sand castle with manure. White Nationalists don’t have a sufficient number of men of character to launch a successful secessionist movement anywhere in the United States. Only a fraction of the most diehard White Nationalists would be willing to uproot themselves and relocate to the Pacific Northwest with their families. Only a smaller fraction of them would be willing to risk life and limb for a White homeland.
The federal government is too powerful. I’m less inclined than ever before to believe the system will collapse in the near future. Some have claimed the feds are incompetent. I would argue that they have had a lot of success in penetrating the White Nationalist underground and disrupting our organizations from within. Bill White is going to prison merely for running his mouth. I don’t see anything like a sustained White Nationalist resistance to the federal government (crack one cell, another takes its place) emerging anytime soon.
In our own times, the Northwest Volunteer Army and Northwest Republic properly belong to the realm of fiction. If Covington is serious about this idea, he should focus his energies on practical achievable goals. It would be a huge step forward to get all the racialists who currently reside in the Northwest in regular communication with each other. To my knowledge, the Northwest Front hasn’t progressed that far yet. The next step would be holding state and regional meetings in the real world. The next step after that would be recruiting candidates for a new regional organization.
This organization could then do an exhaustive investigation of local racial attitudes and voting preferences. The Northwest Front could send out some professionally designed direct mail to targeted households sympathetic to traditional cultural values and anti-government rhetoric. It could design a political platform that appeals to a significant cross section of voters in the Northwest and start building a fundraising base. This makes more sense than lashing out at black helicopters with a bazooka. There are a number of steps that come before White Revolution.
I think a Northwest Homeland would be a much tougher mountain to climb than a Southern Homeland. It would be easier to create a base in states like Alabama, Mississippi, and South Carolina where the locals are already receptive to racialism and resent the federal government. The racial diversity of the Deep South provides more opportunity for confrontation and racial combustion. Southerners also have an ethnic identity to fall back on and a tradition of secession.
If Harold Covington is interested, this is a debate we should be having.

Good points. As much as I would love a white homeland somewhere, I dont think it is really feasible until we win the internet wars for the hearts and minds of our people. My kids in school in the last 2 months have: 1) gone to the Holocaust museum 2) read Elie Weisel’s “Night” and 3) covered the holocaust in social studies class. They have spoken about diversity in general throughout, and it has been at least a background theme in many of their classes all through school. They are also flooded with mexican immigrants, and racial stuff is taboo to speak about. This ALL has to change. We don’t want to end up worse off than when we started with our best people in jail or dead. Bill White, Ernst Zundel, and Matt Hale — all railroaded into prison for speaking out with our own governments complicity — are examples of just how far we need to go from where we are.
This is a WORLD revolution. This time it has to be the world, not even just one country. We need our best minds and resources turned back to our own best interests and destiny. This is much more important than the space program, and even during the cold war we had Apollo-Suyuz. Europe collaborates on space launches now too, and other things. This should be like that.
Every person of every race should be able to see the importance of the genetic heritage and destiny of Europeans (and the interests they have in their OWN path –see Alex Kurtagic’s Haiti article on TOO)– we need the freedom to follow our destiny. Freedom like we have as individuals or families in our homes — the same freedoms are FUNDAMENTAL god-given freedoms to our people, our nationalities, our RACE! Life is not about material wealth, it is not about everyone getting a piece of the pie. Nations are held together, and motivations sustained, by great things, great destinies, great works, not artificial mascots.
It has to be a moral revolution, one where we are so absolutely morally superior in every way that there is no question who is right. The reason people do not see this is because they cannot think for themselves. They cannot begin to put truth together to form a coherent and accurate picture of the absolute foundational importance of race. They have not been taught the truth in schools, just a political ideology — and a concurrent manipulation fo their emotions toward the ends of a tiny but powerful and vociferous minority. Morality is universal and objective. It is constructive and looks to the future. It uses the best information we have to choose the best path to the future for humanity.
I know, without any doubt, that race and eugenics within race, are THE moral and intellectual path to the future for the human race, period. I know this because objective information hard-won from hundreds of years of science has made this explicit in so many ways. I used to be a STAUNCH anti-racist. I used to write papers on what it might FEEL like to be a black person living in white society. I am a compassionate and caring person. I just had wrong information back then –which led me to focus on the wrong things.
There are things much more important than politeness, people’s comfort, or even money. Much more important. Science has shown that nature is organized in certain ways, works in certain ways — we have exploded into knowledge of the universe around us in the last few hundred years. This knowledge is written in the book of life itself — it is echoed from every corner of nature, it is even echoed in the emotions I feel as a result of the history of my people, because that history shaped my brain. You see the same patterns reflected everywhere. CHOICES people made led us to be who we are — this is so much more important today with all the ways we change our own world, from architecture to schools and modern media. I know that this is not just about race, it is about the history of religion before race. Racial consciousness, and knowledge of DNA and its evolution, is RELIGION. It is the key to the salvation and even eternal life of mankind eventually.
I show in my book that this is the purpose of all life through time — to become conscious of these keys to a greater kingdom, a greater path, that is the true direct and unclouded path of morality unfiltered through the desires and foibles of single men. There is no way we should feel marginalized, that we need to scurry off and hide in some compound somewhere like a cult, or even to some corner of the world. 30,000 is a laughable number. On Stormfront there are over 100,000 members. Even that is laughable compared to every organism on Earth — each of which is automatically a supporter of the path of all life–OUR path. This is a question of truly opening hearts and minds to the larger world we live in. Do that, bring these things to peoples hearts and minds and make them pillars of our society and we will live to fulfil our destiny and the destiny of all life since the beginning. We will also have a MUCH better and fairer world. A more moral world. To do this, we need to reach our best minds and take back all our information pipelines and make them truthful once more — like we are doing here.
Okay Steve, I read your comments and I am fascinated with the idea that you believe that we can win this war on the internet while you allow your children to grow up surrounded by nonWhites and indoctrinated with multiculturalism by the public school system, a school system run by our enemies.
Websites like Stormfront have existed for quite a while and organizations like National Alliance and American Renaissance have also existed and still have difficulty even having a meeting place that doesnt come under attack by those who would stifle our speech. So unfortunately I dont hold much hope for the internet.
The other issue is that internet and organizations end up more preaching to the choir or a battleground over specifics of ideology than actually accomplishing anything concrete. I do think both of these types of activism help to educate people but the problem is that after you educate them there is not much else for them to do.
The Northwest migration for racially conscious Whites is, I feel, the ONLY concrete and viable solution for North American Whites to maintain physical land areas and retaining our unique genetics until we can gain some sort of political power and influence. The reason that I believe this is that the majority of the population in the Pacific Northwest is already a majority White. Also this area is historically rebellious against the federal government and they are very independent thinkers,hence the very strong tea party support and support of Ron Paul. Also despite what you might think, a very large percentage of the White population here is racially conscious and pro White. Many consciously moved here to escape nonWhite influences as long as 20 years or more ago. In some ways they are more racially sensitive than those who live around nonWhites on a regular basis.
Finally it is a concrete activism that will reap rewards immediately no matter what level of activism is taken. Just the mere act of moving ones family to the Pacific Northwest will eliminate many of the issues that endanger one every day living as a minority amongst Third Worlders. How does it sound to have your kids attend schools that are the top in the nation, not have to lock your doors, no pollution or smog, very limited gun laws and a population that supports the 2nd amendment, little crime, no graffiti, low taxes, and living amongst people who are of your same race and who speak the same language. Just the mere move here will grant these blessings upon the migrant racially conscious White. They dont have to do anything but move to add to our numbers and actively improve their lives and the lives and chances of their children and grandchildren.
I have more to add to this but I am postponing meeting with fellow White Nationalists at a local park where we will attend a Equinox festival. Things like this are a common occurrence up here in the Pacific Northwest.

In Archeofuturism, Guillame Faye makes the point that people will not act unless their backs are against the wall. At that time, a vanguard party has to sieze the moment when a power vacuum occurs. This cannot happen without some sort of crisis situation that spins out of government control.
We are not at that crisis point, and white America’s back is not yet against the wall. The storm clouds are gathering, though. I think the first flashpoint may be in Europe, since geographically the very size of European states has made the immigration problem much more acute. The EU is sitting on a powder keg.
There are many reasons that whites in America are difficult to organize; indeed, for them to see that they have any common interests at all. America’s excessive individualism is part of the problem. This fantasy, which derives from the mythos of the pioneer West and immortalized in film, has been a barrier to white self-organization. From an early point in our American history, we rejected the high culture of Europe and her tradition, and salvation through economic success was the American ethos. Our country was weak from the start. It was, and is, especially vulnerable to a fifth column strategy that actually uses American ideals like “freedom” and “tolerance” to undermine the institutions of America. White Americans, who no longer share a widely held group identity, have retreated from any concerns outside of their families and jobs, and I don’t blame them. In many ways, this is a natural response to a world that is rapidly devolving.
The practical implementation of a white homeland is premature. We must adopt the tactics of Gramsci and the Frankfurt School; tactics that targeted cultural institutions. We must begin by taking our universities and primary and secondary schools back. At the same time, our tactics change to address national and world events. Steve Roemer is right: this is a world revolution. It is nothing less than a civilizational crisis, long past the point of reform. All cultures, the world over, are under attack. Hunter Wallace may be wrong, however, about the monolithic nature of the federal government. Events can change rapidly, and we’ve already seen how their “crisis response” worked with Katrina. Their ideology is fragile now, and it takes more and more governmental intervention in all areas of life to keep this corrupt mafia going. We never thought we’d see the end of the Soviet Union, either. What I’m trying to say is that we need to keep our tactics flexible, and not get ahead of ouselves. I admire those individuals who are trying to build something in the Pacific Northwest. It is an effort that deserves our full support. For much of the rest of America, it is an idea that, unfortunately, is premature.
