Race & War
One of the most serious obstacles to a purely biological formulation of the doctrine of race is the fact that cross-breeding and contamination of the blood are not the only cause of the decline and decay of races. Races may equally degenerate and come to their end because of a process – so to speak – of inner extinction, without the participation of external factors. In purely biological terms this may correspond to those enigmatic ‘inner variations’ (idiovariations) which science has been forced to recognize are just as powerful as variations due to cross-breeding in bringing about mutations.
This will never be completely understood if the biological conception of race is not integrated with that ‘racism of the second and of the third degree’ of which we have repeatedly spoken here. It is only if race is considered as existing not only in the body, but also in the soul and in the spirit, as a deep, meta-biological force which conditions both the physical and the psychical structures in the organic totality of the human entity – it is only if this eminently traditional point of view is assumed – that the mystery of the decline of races can be fathomed in all its aspects. One can then realize that, in a way analogous to the individual abdication and inner breakdown of the individual, where the loss of all moral tension and the attitude of passive abandonment can gradually find expression in a true physical collapse, or can paralyze natural organic resources far more efficiently than any threat to the body – so developments of the same nature can occur on the plane of those greater entities which are human races, on the greater scale in space and in time of their aggregate life spans. And what we have just pointed out about organic resources neutralized, when the inner – moral and spiritual – tension of an individual is lacking, can even allow us to consider less simplistically and less materialistically the matter of racial alterations due to mixing and contamination, as well.
This is quite similar to what happens in infections. It is known, in fact, that bacteria and microbes are not always the sole effective and unilateral causes of illness: for a disease to be acquired by contagion a certain more or less strong predisposition is necessary. The state of integrity or tonicity of the organism, in turn, conditions this predisposition, and this is greatly affected by the spiritual factor, the presence of the whole being to himself, and his state of inner intrepidity or anguish. In accordance to this analogy, we may believe that, for cross-breeding to have a really, fatally, inexorably degenerative outcome for a race, it is necessary without exception that this race already be damaged inwardly to a certain extent, and that the tension of its original will be lax as a result.
When a race has been reduced to a mere ensemble of atavistic automatisms, which have become the sole surviving vestiges of what once it was, then a collision, a lesion, a simple action from outside, is enough to make it fall, to disfigure it and to denature it. In such a case, it does not behave like an elastic body, ready to react and to resume its original shape after the collision (provided, that is, that the latter does not exceed certain limits and does not produce permanent actual damage), but, rather, it behaves like a rigid, inelastic body, which passively endures the imprint of external action.
On the basis of these considerations two practical tasks of racism can be distinguished. The first task could be said to be one of passive defense. This means sheltering the race from all external actions (crossings, unsuitable forms of life and culture, etc.) which could present the danger to it of a crisis, a mutation or a denaturation. The second task by contrast is that of active resistance, and consists in reducing to a minimum the predisposition of the race to degeneration, that is to say, the ground on which it can be exposed passively to external action. This means, essentially, ‘to exalt’ its inner race; to see to it that its intimate tension is never lacking; that, as counterpart of its physical integrity, within it there is something like an uncontrollable and irreducible fire, always yearning for new material to feed its blaze, in the form of new obstacles, which defy it and force it to reassert itself.
This second task is obviously more arduous than the first, because it can demand solutions which vary from individual to individual, and because external, general and material measures are of little use for it. It is a matter of overcoming the inertia of spirit, that force of gravity which is in force in human interiority no less than in the outer, physical world, and here finds expression precisely in the inclination to abandonment, to ‘take it easy’, to always follow the path of least resistance. But, unfortunately, for the individual as well as for the race, to overcome this danger it is necessary to have a support – for the ability to act directly, to always remain at the crest of the wave, to maintain an inner initiative which is always renewed, without the need for renewed stimuli, can only occur as the result of an exceptional endowment, and cannot reasonably be demanded as a matter of course. As we have said, for tension which has become latent to reawaken, before it is too late and the processes of the automatization of race follow, an obstacle, a test, almost a challenge, is necessary. It is then that the crisis and the decision occur: by their way of reacting, the deeper, meta-biological powers of the race then show whether they have remained stronger than the contingencies and the destinies of the given period of history. In the case of a positive reaction, new potentialities come, from deep inside, to saturate again the racial circuit. A new ascending cycle begins for that race.

In some cases, it is even possible that precisely cross-breeding – naturally kept within very stringent limits – carries out a function of that kind. This is well-known in zootechnics. The ‘pure breed’ in some animal species is the result both of the preservation of heredity and of judicious cross-breeding. We do not share the opinion of Chamberlain,[1] who was inclined to apply this kind of thinking to the ‘superior races’ of humanity. However, it is a well proven fact that in some aristocratic families, which, with their centuries-old blood law, have been the only experimental field for racism in history hitherto, some cross-breedings have had precisely the merit of preventing extinction of the line through inner degeneration. Here – let us stress – the cross-breeding has the function of an ordeal, not a rule – an ordeal, moreover, which can also present a dangerous challenge for the blood. But danger reawakens the spirit. Before the heterogeneous element introduced by cross-breeding the homogenous nucleus is called to reaffirm itself, to assimilate to himself what is alien, to act towards it in the capacity of the ‘dominant’ towards the ‘recessive’, in terms of the laws of Mendel.[2] If the reaction is positive, the result is an awakening. The stock which seemed spent and exhausted reawakens. But if it has already fallen too much, or if the heterogeneity is excessive, the ordeal is failed and the decline is quick and definitive.
But the highest instrument of inner awakening of race is combat, and war is its highest expression. That pacifism and humanitarianism are phenomena closely linked to internationalism, democracy, cosmopolitanism and liberalism is perfectly logical – the same anti-racial instinct present in some, is reflected and confirmed in the others. The will towards sub-racial leveling inborn in internationalism finds its ally in pacifist humanitarianism, which has the function of preventing the heroic test from disrupting the game by galvanizing the surviving forces of any still not completely deracinated peoples. It is odd, however, and illustrates the errors to which a unilaterally biological formulation of the racial problem can lead, that the racial theory of ‘mis-selections’, as expressed for example by Vacher de Lapouge, partakes, to a certain extent, of the same incomprehension of the positive meaning of war for race – but here, in the face of full knowledge of the facts – as is found in internationalist democratism. To be specific, they suppose that every war turns into a progressive elimination of the best, of the exponents of the still pure race of the various peoples, facilitating thus an involution.
This is a partial view, because it only considers what is lost through the disappearance of some individuals, not what is aroused to a much greater extent in others by the experience of war, which otherwise would never have been aroused. This becomes even more obvious if we do not consider ancient wars which were largely fought by elites while the lower strata were spared by them, but rather modern wars which engage entire armed nations and which, moreover, in their character of totality, involve not only physical but also moral and spiritual forces of combatants and non-combatants alike. The Jew Ludwig[3] expressed fury about an article published in a German military review, which brought out the possibilities of selection related even to air bombardments, in which the test of sang-froid, the immediate, lucid reaction of instinct of direction as against brutal or confused impulse, cannot but turn out in a decisive discrimination for those who have the greatest probability of escaping and surviving.
The indignation of the humanitarian Jew Ludwig, who has notwithstanding become the bellicose propagator of the ‘new Holy Alliance’ against Fascism, is powerless against what is correct in considerations of this sort. If the next world war is a ‘total war’ it will mean also a ‘total test’ of the surviving racial forces of the modern world. Without doubt, some will collapse, whereas others will awake and rise. Nameless catastrophes could even be the hard but necessary price of heroic peaks and new liberations of primordial forces dulled through grey centuries. But such is the fatal condition for the creation of any new world – and it is a new world that we seek for the future.
What we have said here must be considered as a mere introduction to the question of the significance which war has, in general, for race. Three fundamental points should be considered, in conclusion. First, since we proceed on the assumption of the fundamental difference of human races – a difference which, according to the doctrine of the three degrees of racism, is not restricted to corporeality but concerns also soul and spirit – it should be expected that the spiritual and physical behavior towards the experience or test of war varies as between the various races; it will therefore be both necessary and interesting to define the sense according to which, for each specific race, the aforementioned reaction will occur.
Second, it is necessary to consider the relationship of interdependence between what a well understood racial policy can do to promote the aims of war, and, conversely, what war, in the presupposition of a right spiritual attitude, can do to promote the aims of race. We can speak, in this respect, of a sort of germ, or primary nucleus, created initially or reawakened by racial policy, which brings out racial values in the consciousness of a people; a germ or nucleus which will bear fruit by giving the war a value, while conversely the experience of war, and the instincts and currents of deep forces which emerge through such an experience, give the racial sense a right, fecund direction.
And this leads us to the third and last point. People are accustomed to speaking too generally, and too romantically, about ‘heroism’, ‘heroic experience’ and the like. When they are done with such romantic assumptions, in modern times, there seem to remain only material ones, such that men who rise up and fight are considered simply as ‘human material’, and the heroism of the combatants is related to victory as mere means to an end, the end itself being nothing but the incrementation of the material and economic power and territory of a given State.
In view of the considerations which have been pointed out here, it is necessary to change these attitudes. From the ‘ordeal by fire’ of the primordial forces of race heroic experience, above all other experience, has been a means to an essentially spiritual and interior end. But there is more: heroic experience differentiates itself in its results not only according to the various races, but also according to the extent to which, within each race, a super-race has formed itself and come to power. The various degrees of this creative differentiation correspond to so many ways of being a hero and to so many forms of awakening through heroic experience. On the lowest plane hybrid, essentially vital, instinctive and collective forces emerge – this is somewhat similar to the awakening on a large scale of the ‘primordial horde’ with the solidarity, the unity of destiny and of holocaust which is peculiar to it. Gradually, this mostly naturalistic experience is purified, dignified, becomes luminous, until it reaches its highest form, which corresponds to the Aryan conception of war as ‘holy war’, and of victory and triumph as an apex, since its value is identical to those of holiness and initiation, and, finally, of death on the battlefield as mors triumphalis, as not rhetorical but effective overcoming of death.
Having indicated all these points in a basic but, we trust, sufficiently intelligible manner, we propose to tackle them one by one in writings which will follow the present one, which will specifically consider the varieties of heroic experience according to race and then the vision of war peculiar to the Nordic-Aryan and Ario-Roman tradition in particular.

Great essay however I find one tid bit fairly amusing. He refers to the authority of “science” in it’s discovery of metabiological causes in mutations. Spiritualist authors of 19th & 20th century background seem to always crutch their thesis with an appeal to the scientific basis of their beliefs as any examination of Blavatsky, Crowley, Fortune, Spare, Osho, and countless others do. I do not need science to hoist the validity of race let alone spiritual races. All I need are the feelings that arise with experience of interacting with another.
Furthermore, paragraphs like this serve as obscuration:

War does not bring about the racial “nucleus” of self-righteousness, success does that, not just in war, but in cooperation. I feel more empowered cooperating with other races for my own peoples success then annihilating opposition. Their is a concept in war to use the least amount of force necessary to achieve your objective, a concept that a nobleman like Evola would have to acquiesce to.
Furthermore, sans the Crusades, their is now conception in the Western tradition akin to jihad or holy way. This statement is an Islamic one not an Aryan one:

Called a spade a pear does not make it a pear. However it will misguide those unfamiliar with the subject and cause justifications for submitting to an ignominious death (such as what happened on all sides during Stalingrad in 1942).
Lastly this conception:

Is a Tribal initiation for the warrior, or as seen in Spartan coming of age rites, and warriors only. Not all men are warriors and neither should they be.
However there is little doubt that the European American race is behaving exactly like:

For philosophers like Julius Evola, war is an abstract concept, much like the zombies who play video war games; but to the the poor saps who have to do the real fighting, it is hell! And whatever may be the metaphysical gains from it, are far outweighed by the loss in blood and resources.
What wars, that Whites have engaged in, have ever been of benefit to the race as a whole? The vast majority of them have been against our own kind!
The only exception I can think of, is the Indian wars in north America.
Evola’s vocabulary is far too abstract. Half the time it is not clear what the man is talking about, but I strongly suspect that such questions as ‘the reasons for race failure’ are not nearly so esoteric as one might gather from reading his writings. The true reasons for race failure are matter of fact sort of things, like rich and powerful men choosing very pretty but delicate women to breed with, creating over-civilized, neurosis prone offspring. Other factors too like a race elite abdicating responsibility to lead for the simple reason of not being “hungry”, as they say. Or the fact that so many of us are employees with mortgages and mouths to feed, indentured servants in other words, and thus hesitant and browbeaten. There are so many plain reasons for our predicament that resorting to Evola’s abstruse vocabulary for explanation must violate laws of parsimony, sensible rules like “the simplest explanation must be the best one.”
One very important point we need to realize is that many organisms are naturally and perpetually in a state of war. Cats and dogs, lions and hyenas, one ant species against another, impalas and cheetahs, Viceroy butterflies and birds, etc. etc. All it takes is different strategies or patterns coming into conflict over time. They tend to shape each other in these wars. Humans are different because we make our own environments — especially with language.
In humans, the wars need not involve overt violence at all. All it takes is an advantage of some kind to cause the ebb and flow of other genotypes. For example the black propensity toward violence, fecundity (and rape) makes a bad environment for the European truth-seeking, and resource accumulation / planning genes because it is difficult to build (our pattern) and easy to destroy (theirs). In the long run, left to ourselves, our pattern is unquestionably better. In the short run, theirs can destroy and overtake / eliminate ours if we are not allowed to defend ourselves. If black genes get in us, over time they will rise and we will fall — unless we take action and shape our environment accordingly. The building / truth / planning patterns of Europe are recent and delicate compared to the violence of Africa which remained unchanged after we left. certain mutations (which gave rise to us) could not take hold there because they would be destroyed by the patterns existing.
As humans, we can become aware of this and even overtly cooperate with other races formed in the long war of primates through history (that’s why we have chimpanzees, then we jump to humans… the intervening species were killed or died off / outcompeted–the latest being the Neanderthals, which took 15,000 years. That’s a long war.). Understanding race differences and what they say about the destiny, patterns, and history of a people is necessary to defend ourselves from these other competing genetic patterns in other races. Patterns which would not only destroy ours, but would shut us out of the forseeable future. For Europeans, I think our war is less with other races and more with ourselves, and death itself, and the historical evolutionary ignorance that brings death. We are trying to eliminate the patterns that lead to Africa, and Jews, etc. as our salient characteristic as a race. With Africans and Jews, the war is definitely with other races, their patterns are either violent / sexually displacing (blacks) or manipulative / destroying / resource appropriating (Jews). Both blacks and Jews destroy us by merely living among us and nature taking it’s course — we have little defense from them other than separation. Their patterns are other-directed, set up to destroy. Their genomes are war machines. That’s why we need race-awareness and discrimination so badly — it is basically our only defense besides honest and open war in the streets which NO ONE wants!
Our genes are automatically at war. There is your war that Evola speaks of — it is all around us, an invisible, cross-generational, perpetual war. There already is a race war — it is part of the definition of race. The civilization builders who amass resources are the natural prey of blacks and Jews if they are given a free hand among us — so it looks like we are bad guys for constantly trying to take this free hand away, when self-defense is actually a universally moral act. It is as immoral as feeding Christians to the lions to force us together–or releasing tigers in a schoolyard. It is more immoral than putting lions and hyenas together in a zoo and watching the mayhem as we munch popcorn… because The white race has a unique destiny we can see clearly in our history, culture, and interactions.. a destiny unique in the entire history of life in the universe as we know it. It deserves DEFENSE! Our race gives meaning to all life on Earth.
I think Randy makes a good point in his comment–in that he shows us that selfishness is a big basic reason races or civilizations fall. We try to reduce that with laws and prisons, etc. but it is difficult to do this in the higher functioning people who have base motives or are corrupt because they can deceive and otherwise avoid or even reverse our defenses (Jews thrive in this traditional western blind spot). A big reason I think selfishness rises to destructive levels is because morality and higher values fall and the civilization becomes a corrupt feeding frenzy as the higher-functioning infiltrators with bad motives take over the wealth and power naturally accumulated by builders in civilizations. Builders have ideals and restrictions on their behaviors which can put them at disadvantage with the unscrupulous who are no-holds-barred. That is probably how jews formed–in the niche made by behavioral self-restrictors who build sedentary civilizations, accumulate wealth, and work toward truth. The invention of money did not help with selfishness either… Even Europeans are not perfect. We just have the best shot at a higher destiny than any other race on Earth.
Left to ourselves, we are on the right overall path. Genes, and people, should not be judged only in the here-and-now. They are meaningless in isolation from other genes (Lewontin Fallacy…) or without seeing a trajectory over time. Our morality is built on this — even tiny acts in the here-and-now like dropping a gum wrapper can be significant if everyone does it over long periods. We have a destiny and so do other races (and all speciating species for that matter). Our destinies are different. Ours is not to destroy but to build, learn, and take control of our genes toward these mighty ends.
In development, a tiny number of genes are responsible for the staggeringly complex brain — it is the interaction of genes over time in a particular way that makes a brain — remove time and you remove the brain itself which gives meaning to the genes from the picture. A brain is the expression of genes over time, and it is the most complex and awe-inspiring thing in the universe. It is no different with people and human societies. Saying race does not matter is like saying brains do not matter because genes are all made of the exact same nucleotides. It is nonsensical to remove the time and space interactions and destiny of genes from the picture–and what makes genes different. Culture matters, and it grows from genes as much as our brains do. Time and interaction makes both race important and life meaningful. The only way to peace on Earth in this larger sense I speak of here is to move our war out there — against the obstacles in the physical environment, obstacles in our imperfect genes, and in the universe using objective truth. Only the white race is doing that in earnest. We are the hope and promise of all life.
I think when Evola talks about spirit, he is talking about the inward feelings that our race has a great destiny that we can feel and become a part of in our motives — like people getting excited about building a cathedral they will never see finished. It is a builder emotion. The feeling that we are on our best and most righteous path. That pulls us together knowing this. If we lost those feelings, we might accept base, selfish, destructive motives instead and lose our way entirely over time. The structure of our culture ought to crystallize out of the vision and actions of our best people who love us and our path and can see it — not from Jews who hate us and our path and want to destroy us. We need good leaders, people with our great destiny at heart, now more than ever — not AIPAC puppets, NAACP thugs, ADL lackeys, and Hollywood propaganda zombies.

Evola was an officer in the Italian army during WWI who fought in the Asiago plateau battle. He was later paralyzed from the waist down as a result of a Soviet bombing raid while in Germany during WWII. He did not lack for direct experience with war.

The feminine, middle-class materialism of America’s betrayal of our Aryan heritage is fully evident in these pathetic responses to this piece, which is worth more than all the articles collected at this and other so-called WN sites.
There is no question we are at war already. It did not take guns for war to exist, it took war for guns to exist! I certainly don’t think that this piece by Evola is the most important WN piece anywhere–even though it alludes to some main themes in our struggle for existence. I did think I was agreeing with Evola and expanding on what he said as a call to WAR in the grandest sense. For example here Evola says:

In sum, he says that we need the external protection or separation of the races and an internal eternal unquenchable fire. Exactly what I have always been saying — we need people to wake up inside to their great destiny as well as protect themselves from invasion. Every person as a walled village with an internal cathedral on a grand scale so to speak. An armored knight full of high ideals and the highest intentions for his people — willing to fight forever.
Mixing does force us to wake up — as the massive influx of Jews into Vienna during the Hitler era did to Hitler and those people experiencing this invasion. Something like 75,000 Jews entered Vienna over one 10-year period alone.
Also some internal genetic mixing does pose a very real challenge to us — the enemy we fight within, and the crime and corruption without as a result. To survive and have ideals and dreams — part of that inner fire — we need to wake up and fight and think strenuously. We have to consciously envision and take over our genetic destiny. Humans alone can do this — I have said we are the “eugenic ape”. It is what we do.
I have even made arguments in my book that the entire industrial and scientific revolutions were an arms race for the final battle of good and evil which we are living through today which will forever define the future as hell on Earth or heaven on Earth. There is what people SAY they are doing and then there is what their actions say on the grand inter-generational scale of time. Ants follow chemical trails to food and back to the nest, they know little about chemicals and could not articulate what they are doing. Yet, we can “read” their patterns made meaningful by our amassed knowledge and truly see what they are doing. We can see the great pattern of their nest and even species through time — the amazing resource, reconnaisance, and defense systems. We need to see our OWN people and their actions through time in this way. We also most importantly need to see the Jews that way. It is virtually the only way to tell with them. You cannot listen to what they say.
Jews do the same things in every generation, in every civilization they invade, their actions are uncanny — as if there is a conspiracy. Beavers everywhere dam streams and build homes out in the water. It is no conspiracy, it is genetics. Jews see strengths and power in outgroups, in their knowledge and truths, in their leaders, and they see threat and do their thing. Their nefarious, subversive goals trump all truth or building pursuits in their emotional makeup. They are experts at manipulation and deception –both to get complicity in these dark goals from those less aware, and to defend themselves from repercussions if and when the truth might become known. Studies show that when beavers hear running water, it triggers them to drag sticks and trees over until the dam is made. Then, seeing a pool of water, they build homes in it. They do not think about it. They will even drag sticks over to a speaker in a dry room producing this noise. They are not aware of what they do like the ants. People are like this too. (sorry, but that is how propaganda, and TV advertising works!) We need to read what these patterns are saying — not listen to what jews tell us because they evolved to deceive us and not follow or accumulate truth like we do. That is part of their own stick-dragging or pheromone-following so to speak. Kevin Macdonald calls it their self-deception. A grand unawareness of their agression and evil. It is especially salient in them, because they need to live among others and be consummate actors to avoid detection and wrath.
We ARE at war already in our patterns of civilization against others– one which occasionally breaks out into actual warfare and killing as in WW2. We are right in the middle of a huge war across vast timescales. Our great thinkers and scientists are also super-warriors of truth, who simply increase truth to provide the best defense against deceivers and other obstacles– and this also wakes us up! Quite literally, our people are destroyed for lack of KNOWLEDGE. If they understood the miracle of our people fully, and our great destiny, perhaps they might muster some righteous indignation at our diabolically-orchestrated demise as well.
The western mind has nothing to hide — we are the aware and conscious minds of the panorama of life. Our standing water where we build and protect our own is the ocean of truth. The first thing we need in war is information and coordination of behavior. Our scientists have now given us everything we need to survive and win this war. This is not a pathetic sentiment in any way.

All this talk about race within WN circles is contradicted by the reality of race on the ground. The White mass is mixed-race and thinks mixed-race. It is the same within Latino intellectual circles. The mixed-race masses whether Anglo (White) or Hispanic (Latino) think like mixed-race people. How else can they think?
The mixed-race masses do not think in terms of ethnicity or culture or history or ancestry because that means choosing between two or more races, between two or more parts of their own personal, family and ancestral origins.
The WN intellectual leadership feeds this mixed-race genetic and ideological dystopic reality with their endless and pointless discussions about race. To an outsider this Orwellian phenomenon is so obvious that it begs the question: Why? What external or internal sources drive this insanity? To what end and to whose gain? It is patently not in the interest of European Americans.
In the past it may have been in the interest of the WASP oligarchy to blur the ethnic differences among the various European immigrant nationalities. A Melting Pot dynamic worked to amalgamate the immigrant European mass into one supposed “White” race using an Anglo-Saxon ethnically white-washed (no pun intended) blueprint but it doesn’t work today and is the source of the European-American ethno-racial dystopia of today.
The public source is British but the hidden source of this racial nonsense is Judaic. The Anglophiles are caught up in a dysfunctional Melting Pot ideological dynamic from the past and the Judaics work overtime to make sure that this Orwellian ideology continues to reign supreme for their own ethno-racial purposes of divide and conquer.
