Recent Changes

As many of you have already heard, there have been some changes here at TOQ Online and The Occidental Quarterly. Dr. Kevin MacDonald was recently appointed as the new Editor of TOQ. The journal has been placed in his hands.

I’ve been appointed as the caretaker of TOQ Online. Samuel Phillips has already introduced himself as the new webmaster. This website will serve as a repository for articles from back issues of the journal. The plan is to post an article a week. I will probably be posting these articles on the weekend while everyone is off work and has the time to read them. It is unclear whether additional material will be posted on a daily basis.

There will be a few other changes. A new section will be created that will allow TOQ subscribers to download a PDF version of the journal as soon as each new issue is released. There has been a spirited debate in our community as to whether TOQ should shift entirely from print to digital media. The new online version of the journal should provide some valuable feedback and help us resolve this question.

Greg Johnson has a new radio show on Voice of Reason. He is the Editor or a new website called Counter Currents. You can reach him at his new email address. I’m sure these two new outlets will develop into a content rich source for his prodigious energies. I’m told he will soon be publishing some great new books about the European New Right. Look out for those.

Note: There will be some technical changes coming soon. This website might go offline for a few days as we complete the transition.

  1. It might be helpful to explain what the particular niche of each website is. I’m hoping that the benefits of modularity are being weighed against the additional administrative overhead and loss of synergies which come with separating concerns. Don’t let anything other than eating and sleeping get in the way of your talent as a truly prolific writer.

Critics may be correct in asserting that the movement has too many writers and not enough workers, but you’re damn near the last writer in the movement who should be put to doing different work.

Airing a little too much dirty laundry, maybe?

I hope this is not the case. To put an end to the print version would be disappointing. Not having the satisfaction of the TOQ journal in my hands while reading outside sipping a glass of red wine is unbearable.

The thought of reading this journal solely on a laptop screen is?

    …disheartening.

If that is to be the fate of this venerable journal (of which I have a printed copy from Vol. 1, No. 1 to the present), it will be a sad day indeed. For, when/if the electronic medium succumbs to the parasitic elite, there will be no insightful essays to pass on to future generations. May TOQ continue to print its journal.

  6. GS put it perfectly. I love going over my print copies of T.O.Q. Also, I’ve left them lying about for others to find and have a look at. Believe me, they have awakened some people. It beats haranguing someone to go to a website.

The print journal isn’t going anywhere. Kevin MacDonald is the new Editor. I just got my copy of the latest issue the other day.

I’m in favor of doing a print journal and the website. I also like something physical that I can stack on my bookshelf. Most people want to keep the print journal. A PDF version will be made available to those who prefer to consume their content online.
